THE NEW INSTRUMENT FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL HYDROGEN PERMEATION!

HELIOS II-PERM is an innovative laboratory instrument that can measure hydrogen diffusion through any metallic materials. 

The method is based on the measurement of the permeation curve in the examined sheet according to the ASTM G148-97(2011) Standard.

The electrochemical cell usually used for this type of experiments is the so-called Devanathan-Stachurski permeation but the measurements are affected to various limits. First of all, HELIOS II-PERM is able to measure hydrogen diffusion without the waiting of the initial oxidation.

HELIOS II-PERM can be used also to measure hydrogen diffusion through coated metallic materials (zinc coating, enamel coating, painting...).

Once acquired, the signal that depends on the hydrogen flux in the examined component, is processed by proper mathematical codes (on a dedicated PC) to assess the parameters related to hydrogen diffusion and the corresponding material permeation properties.

HELIOS II-PERM is a completely automated instrument!
